My apologies, but this is more like an ANTI-job lead, i.e., where the worst is in FL.

Jim Stratton just posted this on his Blog-O-Nomics page:

where NOT to look in Florida Empty Marion County

Post  Sheila Thu Oct 01, 2009 12:44 am

I would say that Marion County should also make the worst list. Our unemployment rate is 12.9, but we don't think that is accurate. I would say that 2/3 of people I personally know are unemployed, and they know people unemployed and so on, and so on. A lot of us figure the rate is closer to 20%. The few jobs here are also getting ridiculous. $7.50 and hour to work at a print shop and $8 an hour for a graphic artist!!!! A lot of people here wish they could move, but most cannot afford to. I think we need to evacuate the whole state. It was never designed for working people anyway. It was initially designed as a playground for the rich. Well, let the rich have it!!!!

If this is still an active post, I would say Charlotte County. On top of that, we were voted the best place to retire. So, if your not retired than you have to work for someone who is. There is nothing here. Work, entertainment, nothing. I did work for the Ray's, which really messed up my unemployment. They deducted what I made so I go nowhere and all for $7.25 hourly. It also wasn't the friendlist place to work either. The bosses there were sarcastic, uncaring, and out for themselves. If/when the recesson ends, help will not be so many. The one stop in Charlotte County is a joke. There isn't even anyone there to ask questions too. Just a room with computers to search emplyflorida on.

OK, I'm done ... sorry Rolling Eyes

where NOT to look in Florida Empty No work in highlands county

Post  spirit Thu Oct 22, 2009 6:02 am

If this is still active there is no work in Highlands county either. I've been out of work for almost 2 years now. Businesses here are either shutting down or just plain not hiring. Last I read Highlands county was 11.5 % unemployed.
