Now thats what Im talking about! A real plan!

This is from an article in the St. Petersburg, FL Times Newspaper a little while back.

The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the
Economy?"

I think this guy nailed it!

Dear Mr. President:

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America's economy.
Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander
the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following
plan.

You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force.

Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the
following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings -
Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered-
Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage-
Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!

What a great idea! I'm 50....do I qualify?
I'd do those things AND pay off my student loans!

At 59, I like the Patriotic Retirement Plan that the St. Petersburg Times reader came up with better than this, but
I'm sure the President has more influence than the Times Reader does.

Um...I keep seeing suggestions like this, along these lines, but they all add up to about the same amount of money. I'm game for this one, but we'd all have to move to Ecuador or some third-world country, because this would cost the USA 40 trillion dollars, which is almost 4x the current national debt, so we'd no longer have any credit anywhere in the world and the country would grind to a complete stop!

But hey, some economists said we didn't spend enough money on the stimulus!

I'm game, nothing else is working...At the rate we're going, we're going to be a third world country anyway...
