Extension Numbers AWI
Does anyone know how to get extension numbers at AWI in Orlando? The local phone number is 407-228-1503. I specifically need to talk to Misa Andrews.
Thanks
Jerry Curci
*ADMIN EDIT - Thanks for the local number, but you might want to post this in the ongoing discussion since its a request and more people would see it there

luey6485 wrote:phone number from previous post for dd issues of your benefits has been disconnected. The new number is 850-617-0256 option#5. After a brief hold a live person comes on the line.
The correct phone number is: 850-617-0250; the DD extension 5 is correct.
Options 1-4 are for benefit status confirmation inquiries.
(I've been on hold for 30+ minutes.)
*ADMIN EDIT - Thanks for updating this Studio, I have removed the other posts with the bad number

Re: AWI Contact Numbers
The state directory gave me a new number for Josh 850-921-3296 but still lists an incorrect extension. It gave me an email address however so I sent him a query and asked him to call me. I should have a correct extension for him later today.

Daniel ext 5829 - Great help from another compassionate agent
Also you can still use 1-877-846-8770 to get through and dial the extensions when prompted, however now if you hit 0 to get a live person it puts you right into voicemail for a call back instead of ringing an available agent.
A workaround to getting the voicemail when hitting 0 is to call 850-617-4799, same system, can use same extensions, but if you hit 0 it will ring out till you reach someone live, within 10 rings or so though hehe then will dump into general mailbox. Of course it wont be long that those other tards spam this all over the other forums and then it to will soon go straight to voicemail, so try while the trying is good

I spoke with Cassandra right before Christmas. She helped me resolve a problem, she is just great! BUT she told me that she would soon be transferred to the "Fact Finding" dept and not at that extension. She didn't know what her new extension would be, but she said we are welcome to leave a message on the general voicemail for her and it would be given to her. She said it might not be as speedy, but she is still willing to help if needed

Cassandra Number
I tired to call Cassandra this morning, 9/21/10....her ext number 1493 is no longer valid. Does anyone have a new contact number for her? Or, does anyone have the extension of a person who will and can actually help me? lol
Thank you!
Thank you!

From what I heard many months ago, Cassandra was transferred (or maybe promoted) to another dept. She left a message at that time that she could still take calls, but my guess is that was mainly for the overload they had at that time when the new laws were implemented early this year.
I can recommend Melody (I don't know if her number has changed by now, but you should find it above somewhere in this thread.) She used to work next to Cassandra and I always found her very helpful; she will also call back if you leave a message.
If you reach her, please stop back here to verify that we have the correct number still. There are also others that are good; maybe someone else can chime in here as well.

Re: AWI Contact Numbers
Ext 1493 no longer belongs to Cassandra...it just took me off into the wild blue yonder...to nobody!
I tried Melody's extension, however, the system kept sending me to the voicemail box of some dude I could hardly understand.\
I then re dialed and, when instructed, dialed O for operator...recieved a message that the operator was not available at this time.... so I will start over tomorrow morning. I am trying to find out my exact status My benefit year began 7/26/2009. I am in Tier II and will make my last certification 10/04/2010. I guess I am wondering if I will automatically go into Tier III or is it all over for me.
Any ideas??
Thanks!

From what you've said, assuming you haven't worked in between or had gaps in your benefits, it looks like you get the max $275 per week (+$25)--right?--which would get you up to 10/4. Oct 4 is well ahead of the cutoff date for eligibility for Tier 3, so I don't see any reason why you wouldn't simply be put into the 13 additional weeks of Tier 3. For Tier 4 after that, however, you would need to wait for Congress to approve further extensions, if they ever do.
To get a real confirmation, keep trying those numbers, or maybe try the email address listed a few posts above. Or there's a generic email address at the very bottom of one of the AWI benefits pages. (No guarantee you'll get someone who knows what they are doing there, however.)
If you really can't get through to anyone on the phones, a strategy I use is to call the governor's office and the customer complaint extension (forgot exactly what's it's called) and tell them you really have to speak with someone and you can't get through on the 800 number. You may still be put in a queue, but it should be for the Tallahassee office where they know their stuff, rather than the crap shoot you get when you are connected to the call centers.

This morning I got through to Kendra. She explained my situation just as you did, Nancy. I will automatically go in to Tier III.
Thank you.

Glad to hear it, lec1234. That's what this forum is for, to clear up the fog around AWI.

Something New
I recently tried something and it worked so it may work for others as well or I was just incredibly lucky. You can almost never get thru on the main line so I always try 1-877-846-8770 and leave a message. I called them last week and actually got a call back ( I was out walking my dog when the call came in two days later).
Anyway, the caller told me to call the above number but I checked my "received" calls list and about the same time he left message, this number was on my phone 850-717-8361 so that was the number I called back and he answered right away. I know it is long distance but most people have cells with free long distance so it is worth a shot. He was able to answer all my questions.
