Obama plan for health care quality dealt a setback

Obama plan for health care quality dealt a setback
Font size PrintE-mailShare1 Comment .(AP) WASHINGTON (AP) — A key medical industry group says the Obama administration's plan for getting quality health care at less cost is so complex it's unworkable.
Just over a month ago, President Barack Obama's top health officials released draft regulations for "accountable care organizations," which are networks of doctors and hospitals that provide treatment more efficiently. One of the major goals of Obama's health care law is to quickly create hundreds of such networks nationwide.
But in an unusual rebuke, the American Medical Group Association told the administration Wednesday that more than 90 percent of its members won't participate in a version of the idea Medicare is carrying out. Association members include the Mayo Clinic, and provide care to about 1 in 3 Americans.
The administration says it's open to addressing concerns.

RomneyCare Has Had Little Impact On ER Visits
So much for all of the cost savings we were promised with these mandates?

30% of companies say they’ll stop offering coverage
Well, if you believe this Kinsey study, it looks like wiping out private employee coverage is a goal of Obama-care........ (Which is why many of these companies contributed money to the Obama campaign, to get out from under providing health insurance while saving face)

AMA reconsiders their support of the Obamacare individual mandate
Where were these "thoughtful" people when they were lobbying in support of the legislation while it was being crafted??

U.S. halts new applications for waivers on health coverage rule
I find this odd that nobody is exploring the implications of this. The reason the waivers were requested and granted in the first place is that business' that offer health care plans that dont meet the Obamacare min coverage requirements were going to drop their coverage all together if they had to incur the expense of upping the coverage limits. I assume the Administration granted the waivers because they didnt want news reports of companies droipping their health plans when the Prez himself said "if you like your present plan you can keep it". I'll bet we see more waivers before election day.

Health Care Waiver Program Being Ended By Obama Administration
Apparently, if you read between the lines here , there will be no "new" waivers granted. The previous waivers granted will be unaffected. Ive heard some opiners speculate that the strategy is to take waivers off the table as a issue for next year's elections. Hopefully the opposition is shrewd enough to keep in on the table.
