Harvard Pilgrim cancels Medicare Advantage plan
So much for 'if you like your current health plan and Doctor you can keep them" commitment.

McDonald's May Drop Health Plan
This is interesting, first of all who knew a Company that hires minimum wage hamburger flippers provides Health Care. (defies stereotype) . For the record, McDonalds denied today that they are considering this. But it is common knowlege in the business community that many businesses are re-assessing their benefit offerings as the Federal Bureauracy interprets the law. I guess that if you were a employee and you lost your benefits, the promise made that if you like you current health plan you can keep it becomes even more absurd.

Federal Agency Flexible On McDonald's Plan
Interesting, this now becomes a excercise of negoiating (kissing a ring) with a bureaucrat for them to excercise "discretion". This is obviously subject to the political wims of the administratoin and thus political (and if you did get a waiver you would be subject to the whims of the next administration), sounds like more uncertainty for business to me.

Sebelius tries to sell health care law to seniors
First the HHS Secretary doesnt stick around for questions on Health Care Reform in Orlando, she leaves it to AARP to answer the questions (who have been stooges for Obamacare) . Ironically, the HHS Secretary issued a joint apology with Hillary for a "unethical" medical study on Guatemalans by the US Govt. (A skeptic might conclude the study was a government run health care excercise)

McDonald's, 29 other firms get health care coverage waivers
The implementation of the Health Care Reform (HCR) bill is a incredible display of confusion and irony at best (not to mention deception) . After reading this article, I concluded that burger flipping companies (that the advocates of HCR said didn’t offer coverage to begin with) are asking for waivers from the bill so they can continue to offer existing coverage to their employees (while HCR advocates said everybody would be able to keep their existing coverage), but now waivers are required to allow employees to keep their existing employee coverage (from the bill that wasn’t supposed to interfere with existing coverage in the first place) . One gets the feeling (as the article implies) that this is being done on the eve of the election so that the already disgruntled voters don’t get the defective ambiguities of HCR (people loosing their Health Care coverage in the headlines, that wasn’t supposed to be interfered with in the first place) rubbed in their face right before the vote.
What happens when the waiver expires a year from now??
What a mess they created, Im not even sure that this could be unraveled with a major shift in Congress after the election . A Video discussion on the subject at the bottom.

Rep Clyburn says the Dems will reintroduce the Public Option
This fella must have the same political advisors that advised the Speaker to offer a Social Security bonus at election time. The Dems had the Presidency and bigger majorities than we will probably see again for a while, and yet they had to use every legislative trick in the book to pass the Health Care bill in March that the public was against. (remember reconcilliation). Now Mr. Clyburn says vote for us and we'll bring back the public option. (Maybe there is a constituency out there somewhere that believes this but I think I would be a wee bit skeptical given the history)
Whats next, free lunch??
